AIME records high satisfaction levels
Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has released results of independent research conducted following AIME 2007.
Australian-based Micromex Research surveyed 300 visitors, 267 hosted buyers and 257 exhibitors regarding the 15th AsiaPacific Incentives & Meetings Expo held in Melbourne in February.
97% of visitors and 97% of hosted buyers who responded to the surveys were ‘satisfied’ to ‘very satisfied’ with AIME 2007 in terms of meeting their objectives.
94% of hosted buyers placed or were likely to place business as a result of AIME, with these buyers expected to book 1,632 events, including 286 in Melbourne/Victoria, 550 in other regions of Australia, 473 in Asia and 323 in international destinations.
76% of visitors who responded to the survey had placed, or intended to place business with exhibitors at AIME 2007, with the average value of this business approximately AU$201,000.
94% of exhibitors surveyed said they obtained a competitive advantage by exhibiting at AIME 2007 compared to other business-to-business marketing initiatives.
91% of exhibitors surveyed intend to exhibit at AIME 2008.
AIME 2007 comprised 842 exhibitors from 49 countries and 370 buyers from 27 countries were hosted to AIME.
Audited figures, which do not include re-visits or exhibitors, verify a total attendance of 2,603 including media representatives.
AIME Event Director, Rosemarie Sama, said: “The results confirm AIME’s position as the premier event for the region. The high satisfaction levels are particularly pleasing in a challenging year where we had only 7 months between events.
“AIME’s mission is to provide value to exhibitors, visitors and hosted buyers, by creating a platform whereby all parties can meet and do business.”
Ms Sama said that based on the research results and feedback from exhibitors and hosted buyers AIME will introduce a number of new initiatives in 2008.
“Stay tuned for some great new announcements about our plans for AIME 2008.”
AIME 2008, 16th AsiaPacific Incentives & Meetings Expo will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 19 & 20 February 2008. For further information visit the AIME website: www.aime.com.au
