Air Canada Rouge launches new routes to Europe, North Africa
Air Canada has announced long haul expansion plans with four new routes to Europe and a first foray to Africa.
The Air Canada Rouge service to Casablanca, Morocco expands the airline’s network to six continents with a four times a week service beginning June 3, 2016.
The seasonal service runs through October 17, 2016.
Air Canada Rouge services were also announced for European cities Prague, Budapest, Warsaw and Glasgow, Scotland.
"Air Canada is solidifying its position among leading global carriers by becoming one of only a dozen airlines flying to six continents with today’s announcement of non-stop service to Casablanca, our first destination in Africa," said Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines at Air Canada.
"Our new, non-stop Air Canada Rouge routes to Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, and Glasgow from Toronto Pearson are equally important as we continue to build out our network from our global gateway hub with more international destinations."
All routes will be operated seasonally on 280-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
These are in addition to already announced new routes due to take off later this year to Dubai and Delhi from Toronto.
