Air France and Delta sign joint venture
Air France and Delta Air Lines are signing a joint venture agreement to share revenues and costs on selected trans-Atlantic routes.
Due to come into force in April, the agreement will initially apply to all trans-Atlantic flights between the Air France and Delta hubs, as well as all flights operated by either carrier between London Heathrow and the US.
These flights will be sold by the non-operating carrier on a codeshare basis.
Starting in 2010, flights to all destinations between Europe, the Mediterranean and North America will be added to the joint venture.
Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines has announced special fares on its twice-daily non-stop services between Heathrow and New York JFK and Atlanta for spring 2008.
Fares will be £229 and £269 respectively, including all taxes and surcharges.
They are only for sale until October 31 and are valid for outbound travel to New York and Atlanta between March 30 and April 30, and must be completed by May 30. They also require a Saturday-night stay, with a maximum stay of one month.
