Air India heading to Los Angeles
Flag carrier Air India is doubling up on flights to California with a new Delhi-Los Angeles route from September.
The specific date and frequency is still to be advised
"There is huge demand for travel between India and the West Coast of the US. We are looking at thrice a week nonstop between Delhi and Los Angeles to begin with," an airline official told the Times of India.
The carrier said it is buoyed by early success of its nonstop flights to San Francisco which operates six time a week.
The airline flies daily to Chicago, Newark and New York and is increasingly become a preferred option for US bound fliers to bypass the electronic ban at Gulf airports.
It also starts flying to Washington DC from July.
