Air India reportedly inks record aircraft order for 500 planes
Air India has reportedly inked a huge aircraft order for nearly 500 planes.
It is split between Airbus and Boeing.
Based on list price it could be worth over $100 billion.
It would represent the largest ever one-time aircraft deal.
According to sources the Airbus aircraft order is for 210 single-aisle A320neos and 40 A350s.
The 220 Boeing aircraft include 737 Max and Dreamliner jets.
Deals with both planemakers have reportedly been signed.
Air India told workers in late January it was ‘finalising a historic order for new aircraft.’
The airline is expected to formally announce details this week.
