Air New Zealand just got Litt up
Suits star Rick Hoffman, who plays lawyer Louis Litt in the hit Netflix show, makes a guest appearance in Air New Zealand’s latest air safety video.
The video, released to support the nation’s rugby team as it prepares for the World Cup in Japan, also includes appearances by some of the All Blacks players, including coach Steve Hansen and captain Kieran Read.
US actor Hoffman apparently asked to become a spokesman for the airline after flying to New Zealand in 2017. He praised Air New Zealand on Twitter, calling it ‘by far the most accommodating’ airline in the world.
Adding that he was drawn to the kiwis ‘quirky’ humour, Hoffman said: "I love New Zealand – the food is amazing and the people are amazing. It’s the way it should be everywhere! I will be thrilled to be recognised on an Air New Zealand safety video."
Playing his on-screen character, cantankerous Louis Litt in the video, Hoffman insists on ‘no rapping’ from the rugby team, in a reference to an earlier Air New Zealand themed safety video.
For this video, the airline’s team pretends to rename the carrier Air All Blacks.
Building on the airline’s twenty-year partnership with New Zealand Rugby, the video also stars 1987 rugby legends Sir Michael Jones, Sir John Kirwan, Buck Shelford, Gary Whetton and David Kirk and former Black Ferns captain Fiao’o Fa’amausili as well as former Australia captain George Gregan.
Air New Zealand general manager global brand and content marketing Jodi Williams described the latest video as ‘a futuristic take on two iconic Kiwi brands coming together to show the world just how much rugby is in our DNA’.
"Changing our name to Air All Blacks is a fun demonstration of our support for the boys in black. Our people feel a great sense of pride flying the team around the world and both organisations consistently show the world what a huge impact a small nation can make on the world stage," she said.
