Air Tahiti Nui resumes LA-Tahiti flights
Air Tahiti Nui has resumed service from Los Angeles to the Islands of Tahiti.
It is linking LA with French Polynesia three times a week with evening flights on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday out of LAX.
An extra weekly flight is added from 13 May.
It is deploying Dreamliner aircraft on the Papeete service.
"We’ve added extra capacity with our flight schedule as we are seeing a strong demand in bookings and look forward to a promising summer and year ahead," said Nicholas Panza, Air Tahiti Nui Americas VP.
It is offering a $775 round-trip fare from Los Angeles International Airport and $789 from San Francisco.
In early June budget carrier French Bee and United Airlines will resume Papeete flights out of San Francisco, while Hawaiian Airlines flies from Honolulu starting from early July.
Tahiti officially reopened for inbound tourism on 1 May with new protocols.
Vaccinated travellers do not need to quarantine but must provide a pre-departure negative Covid test, and take a second test on arrival.
Non-vaccinated visitors are required to quarantine for 10 days.
