AirAsia X has announced a big expansion of flight frequencies on several routes throughout Asia Pacific.

The carrier is upping frequencies from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth in Australia, Osaka, Sapporo, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei.

The extra flights will gradually come online over the coming months, increasing to 14 weekly flights to Melbourne and Perth, and 11 to Sydney.

Beijing and Shanghai frequencies will grow to 11 per week and 14 to Taipei.

To mark the news, AirAsia X is promoting all-in-fares in economy seats to several destinations starting at RM259 one-way to Perth, RM329 to Hangzhou and RM429 to Busan, among others.

The promotion is valid for bookings made by May 8, 2016 for travel until November 24, 2016, the airline said.

"As the pioneer for low-cost long-haul travel, we are pleased to offer our guests greater value with additional flight options to selected destinations. Our guests can now enjoy more flexibility in their travelling plans for the coming few months through the added flight frequencies," said AirAsia X head of commercial, Arik Kumar.
