Airline delays and cancellations are ‘out of hand’, say 53% of travellers
Airline delays and cancellations are completely out of hand, according to 53% of travellers worldwide.
The annual autumn survey of 1,800 travellers by Tripadvisor found that 15% (12 % of Brits) say they will fly less in the coming 12 months because of recent airline problems.
One of the biggest gripes was about the time they have to wait on aircraft before taking off or disembarking.
According to the poll, 37% of travellers believe that while delays are inevitable, airlines should have a maximum number of hours they can keep people on a plane.
Only 6% (10% of Brits) thought that the airlines are doing their best and people just need to be patient and wait.
But despite problems with airline delays and cancellations in 2007, 70% of travellers intend to fly this autumn (see separate story).
