Airline employee carries Olympic torch
Airline employee Barry Hughes was one of a lucky few who got to carry the Olympic torch as it made its way through South Yorkshire.
Hughes, who works for Jet2.com as an accountant, carried the flame from Westgate to High Street in Rotherham. He was awarded the honour for his efforts to establish TrekToTheSky, a charity that has raised over £30,000 in two years.
He said: "It was such an honour to be put forward as a potential torchbearer, let alone actually be selected for the task! The atmosphere in Rotherham was unbelievable and I feel so proud to have played a part in such an important event for the country."
