Airline mask mandate extension still ‘on the table’
The White House says it may extend the federal mask mandate again. It is set to expire next week but any decision will be subject to any increase in Covid cases and the surge in air travellers.
Extending the mandate again is ’absolutely on the table’ White House COVID-19 response coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha told NBC’s Today Show.
CEOs of airlines sent a letter to President Biden calling for an end to the mask mandate, which is backed by travel industry groups and even some airline crew unions.
