Airline strike avoided in Germany
An imminent strike by Lufthansa’s unions in Germany has been avoided.
At the fourth round of wage talks for 33,000 Lufthansa ground staff in Germany, the Air Traffic Employers’ Association (AGVL) and the ver.di union have reached an agreement.
Lufthansa employees already had held a one-day warning strike.
The deal for the first time provides for different pay raises for different business units, based on their performance.
It is valid through March 31, 2015.
