Industry trade group Airlines for America has bolstered its corporate communications team with two new appointments.

A4A named veteran PR specialist Kathy Grannis Allen as managing director, airline industry public relations and communications.

Allen joins A4A from the National Retail Federation where she worked for a decade and was most recently senior director of media relations.

Prior to the NRF, Allen held PR and marketing roles at Stovell Marketing & Public Relations.

"As a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in leading consumer-focused media initiatives, Kathy is a great addition to a strong team," said A4A senior vice president of communications, Jean Medina.

The trade organization also named Nicole Soufi as manager of social media.

Soufi joins from Westat, where she was digital and social media associate.

Previously she oversaw digital and social media strategies for federal agencies including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Education.

"Nicole’s expertise in strategic social media content development and digital influencer outreach will be vital to A4A’s efforts to reach influencers in the Washington area and nationwide," Medina said.
