Airport closures not ruled out during Border Force strikes
On the eve of border force strikes, travellers were warned airports could close.
UK Border Force officers begin a strike on Friday, December 23.
Officials warned inbound travellers to ‘expect delays and disruption.’
“Passengers should be prepared for longer wait times and check with their travel agents.”
The UK government has brought in some troops to help manage border control functions.
During the border force strikes, there is a possibility airports could close.
Steve Dann, COO of Border Force would not rule out closures during the strikes.
It should keep ‘most if not all ports open.’
About 1,000 Border Force staff are expected to walk out from Friday.
