Airtours returns to Brazil for summer ’06
Airtours is returning to Brazil after a five year absence with weekly charters from Gatwick and Manchester.
The country is reintroduced in the operator’s 2005-06 Far & Away brochure with holidays offered from next summer.
The original programme for summer 2001 was curtailed in the wake of the impact of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the travel industry.
Airtours product director Brendan Fox said: “We want to meet the needs of our customers, and currently in the long haul market there is a demand amongst some of our customers for new and emerging destinations.
“They still want the traditional holiday hotspots, but they’ve also got an appetite for new and exciting destinations – but with the reassurance that travelling with a tour operator on a package holiday brings.
“Brazil is a perfect example of this. Lead in prices start from £649 but the variety of holiday experiences we offer, combined with the exceptional value of the amenities in resort, make this a really exciting new choice for our customers.
“Holidaymakers can relax on the beach, explore the rainforest, and enjoy a city break to Rio de Janeiro all within the space of a week. You have adventure, sophistication, relaxation, and glorious sunshine. It is an illustration of how times have changed that people who 10 years ago would have thought a package holiday would find its perfect expression in a beach holiday in Europe are now happy to book a package that will see them walking through the Amazon Rainforest.”
The brochure covers 12 destinations, with flights from six UK airports. Prices start at £489 per person for this winter and £499 per person for next summer.
