Alaska Airline pilots vote to authorize strike
Alaska Airlines pilots voted overwhelmingly to stage a strike if talks on a new employment contract fail. The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) said 99% of union members voted to support strike action.
ALPA said a strike would be a last resort, and if comes to that is still likely months away. Last month 1,500 Alaska Airlines pilots picketed airports.
ALPA says negotiations over new employment contracts have been ongoing ‘for years.’
