Alaska Airlines expanding Seattle services
Alaska Airlines is adding more nonstop flights from its Seattle hub, increasing capacity at Sea-Tac airport by 11% by next spring.
The airline will add 27 new roundtrips, including daily departures to Boise, Idaho; Boston, Chicago, Denver, Fairbanks, Alaska; and Palm Springs and Sacramento in California.
There will also be two more daily services to Los Angeles, and an additional three roundtrip shuttle flights between Seattle and Portland, Oregon.
The airline recently announced six new services from Seattle to Albuquerque, Baltimore, Detroit, New Orleans, Tampa, and Cancun, expanding its daily frequency to 288 flights from the airport by next spring.
Alaska is currently locked in a battle for market share in the Pacific Northwest with Delta Air Lines which is also launching additional flights from Sea-Tac.
At the same time, Delta announced a new daily nonstop flight to Maui and seasonal departures to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico beginning December 20.
The airline will also fly to Bozeman, Montana from December 20 and operate four flights a day to Spokane starting from November 3.
