Alaska Airlines’ Paine Field services begin in February

Sunday, 16 Nov, 2018 0

Alaska Airlines flights are now open for booking at Seattle’s new secondary airport.

Reservations are now live for Alaska’s departures to eight cities from Paine Field in Everett.

It comes as Alaska struck a deal to take over slots originally offered to Southwest Airlines.

Southwest relinquished the slots due to ‘business considerations.’

Alaska will operate up to 18 flights to Portland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Californian destinations Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose and Orange County.

The airport’s new $40 million passenger terminal is nearing completion and will have capacity for up to 24 flights a day initially.

Alaska begins flying from Paine Field on February 11, 2019.

Paine Field is also home to Boeing’s testing facility for widebodied jets as well as private aviation.

A FAA report projects about 656,000 passengers in its first year.

United Airlines also has a slot allocation at Paine Field and is expected to begin services next year.
