Alaska Airlines to offer elite fliers VR in-flight entertainment
Elite customers of Alaska Airlines could soon be taking adventurous virtual side trips during their flight.
The carrier is partnering with tech startup Skylights to introduce the latest ‘Allosky’ VR hardware.
Alaska will trial the VR headsets on the Seattle- Boston and Boston-San Diego routes.
The SkyLights’ Allosky sets offers high definition 2D, 3D and 360-degree films
Movies available include Three Billboards, Ready Player One and Ferdinand, and the set comes pre-loaded with various 360-degree videos covering a range of topics from classical music, acrobatics and free diving.
SkyLights has collaborated with other global airline partners including Air France but this is the first time in the US.
