All the way from Brighton UK to Castaway
Even though building contractor Neil and hsi wife Dawn from Brighton [pictured right] had just bought a place in the Canary Islands they could not resist an around the world trip visiting Singapore, Sydney, Fiji, Hawaii and then back to Brighton.
Neil said that he could not imagine a resort like Castaway on the beach in the Canaries, which is very heavily developed compared to the Mamanucas, but while both locations had great beaches, the one thing that had really struck both of them about Fiji was the amazing Fijian people, who they described as the most genuinely friendly nation they had ever met.
Dawn said that they are so nice that you think that there is a catch, but there isn’t and they actually work very hard indeed and probably for not very much money.
They also said that the water is so clear and everything so well looked after and Castaway is so in keeping with the environment.
Neil said that they booked through Thomson and as they did such a good job last year when we went to the USA and Hawaii that we thought we would go back to Thomson and try going the other way around, still ending up in Hawaii where they were meeting their son in a few days time.
Neil said that Fiji was a dream location for Brits, but it was only for those who could afford it as it was so cheap to go anywhere in Europe at any time of the year at the drop of a hat with the introduction of low cost carriers and only a couple of hours away.
There was no doubt that in Dawn and Neil’s minds though, as they watched another sunset in Fiji that they had found their most idyllic location in the world and yes, they will be back.
