Almost a third of youngsters ‘less likely to holiday in Europe’

Saturday, 05 Jul, 2016 0

One in five holidaymakers is less likely to travel to the Eurozone following the result of the UK referendum.

The age group most put off travelling to the Eurozone now is 18 to 24 year olds, with 30% saying they are less likely to visit following the UK’s decision to exit Europe.

This is likely to be mainly due to the fall in the value of sterling, which has made travel to countries using the euro more expensive.

However, even older travellers have been put off holiday in Europe post the referendum with almost 15% of those aged 65-plus saying they were less likely to visit now.

According to Google Consumer Survey carried out by Travelbag, the survey of 1,500 adults revealed 75% have not changed their travel plans at all while 5.6% said they were more likely to holiday in the Eurozone following the referendum.
