Alternative to Europe: Canada
Blame it partly on the declining dollar: Canadian travel companies are increasingly promoting the area as a more reasonably priced alternative to traditional European cities and resorts.
“Entering the winter and spring, Canada’s accommodation, transportation, and attractions are especially cost-effective, and Fresh Tracks has capitalized on this to offer a selection of the best value on vacations for international travelers,” says the site.
Since the Euro was introduced in January of 2002, the dollar has dropped from a high of 1.17 Euros to a low of 0.68. In the last five years, travel costs to Europe have risen by 41%.
“We wanted to showcase an array of adventurous Canada vacations just as appealing as their European counterparts, and much more affordable,” says John Parker, CEO Fresh Tracks Travel.
Trips available range from ski getaways to romantic weekends, he added.
For history buffs, there’s historic Quebec City.
“Fresh Tracks Travel specializes in helping people of all ages travel independently and responsibly off the beaten path, with unique vacation packages to Canada, Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand,” the company says.
