Amadeus adds Agoda listings
Global distribution system provider Amadeus has teamed up with hotel booking platform Agoda to offer travel agents access to pre-paid hotel content from 150,000 properties around the world.
It gives Asia-centric OTA Agoda access to a wide network of travel professionals and a strong footing in the business travel sector.
Agoda’s content is available via Amadeus at the same price as on the its website allowing agents to compare content side-by-side on a single screen in the GDS and OTA.
"This is our first partnership with a B2C company in Asia. We are privileged to be the first company to globally distribute Agoda’s diverse selection of hotels to agents and travellers," said Christian Lukey, Amadeus Asia Pacific head of hotels, mobility & insurance.
The partnership is being touted as a breakthrough for business travel clients, as bookings can be added it to a single PNR with the employee’s other travel arrangements.
"Agoda customers enjoy access to a huge variety of hotels, apartments or villas for their holidays, and through this partnership will now also be able to access these properties for business travel too," said Agoda senior director Ernst Hemmer.
