Amadeus names Opodo executives
Amadeus has placed several of its own executives in leading roles at Opodo following a take over by the GDS.
The role of chief financial officer, which has been vacant for about a year following the departure of Simon Tucker, will be taken by Matt Murphy. Mr Murphy has been with Amadeus for 14 years and previously worked for Arthur Andersen.
Vince Bourke, who was previously operations director for Opodo, and left the company in April, will rejoin as chief operations officer. Stuart Walters continues as Opodo’s chief information officer. Luc Boucey, currently managing director of Vivacances.com in France, has been appointed acting commercial director.
The man chosen to replace David Scowsill for the time-being is Bart Tompkins, who was one of the executives managing the purchase of a 55% controlling stake in Opodo, in his role as head of e-business investments. He has worked for Amadeus for 13 years in various positions across Europe. A permanent replacement for Mr Scowsill is being sought.
