American Airlines adding Tokyo flights for CES tech show
American Airlines is again adding direct flights linking Tokyo Narita and Las Vegas to support demand for travel to the annual consumer tech show CES 2020.
It will operate the flights with joint business partner Japan Airlines during the week-long event from January 4-12.
Flights will be operated on Boeing 777-200 aircraft, featuring 36 fully lie-flat seats.
It is timed to connect with JAL’s Southeast Asia network to and from cities including Singapore; Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila.
Tickets go live from July 22.
"As CES continues to grow each year, we will continue to deliver on our promise to strengthen the value of our global network," said Vasu Raja, American’s Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning.
American began offering nonstop service to Las Vegas for CES last year.
The carrier is also adding a number of domestic nonstop flights during the event such as departures from Austin and San Jose, CA, as well as upgrading service from Philadelphia and Dallas-Fort Worth to larger aircraft, with an average 18% more seat capacity.
"We want to make sure the world’s best innovators have options on the world’s largest carrier," Raja added.
