American Airlines and Qantas add more US-Australia flights
American Airlines and joint business partner Qantas are adding more transpacific flights to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne from the US this winter.
Starting December 5 through January 2026, American will launch three weekly flights connecting Los Angeles (LAX) with Brisbane.
Additionally, Qantas will increase frequencies to daily services between Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Melbourne starting December 3.
Qantas will also operate all services between Dallas Fort Worth and Sydney on its A380 superjumbo aircraft from January.
“American is proud to partner with Qantas to increase travel options to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this winter,” said Steve Johnson, American’s Chief Strategy Officer.
“Together, we offer the most comprehensive service connecting the United States with Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.”
Qantas Group CEO of International, Cam Wallace added: “The strength of our partnership with American Airlines continues to bring great benefit to our customers around the world.”
Tickets for American’s new service between Los Angeles and Brisbane will go on sale starting May 12.
As well as joint business partners, the two airlines are both oneworld member airlines.
