American Airlines flight veers off taxiway
An American airlines flight headed for Charlotte veered off a taxiway and had to be canceled.
Part of the aircraft ended on grass ahead of its takeoff for Rochester Airport.
The 90 passengers were deplaned and the plane was transported back to the gate by a tow truck.
The airline said no passengers or crew were injured.
However, due to the evening departure, passengers were put up in hotels overnight and were due to depart Friday morning.
An airport spokesperson said both the runway and taxiways had been cleared of ice and snow.
“After completing deicing, American Airlines flight 3057 partially left the paved surface of the taxiway at Rochester. Customers were safely returned to the terminal where our team members are working to assist them with their travel plans,” an airline spokesperson said.
