American Airlines is bringing direct flights to Cancun from four new US markets from next year.

New seasonal services to Cancun will operate from Raleigh-Durham, Pittsburgh, Nashville and Kansas City on Saturdays from March 5, 2016.

"The addition of these four new routes gives our customers 12 locations to fly non-stop to Cancun. As the premier carrier to Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America with flights to 85 destinations, these additions highlight our commitment to providing our customers with a network that is second to none," said Art Torno, senior vice president – international and cargo.

Reservations for the flights will go live in mid-November subject to regulatory approvals, American said.

The routes will be served by Airbus 319 jets which are being retrofitted with AC power ports at every seat and new overhead bins with increased storage.
