American Airlines launching new Covid app
American Airlines is rolling out a new app to help travelers speed up pre-travel compliancy to meet all Covid-19 requirements.
The VeriFLY app gives customers all the information needed for travel in the Covid era including testing and documentation requirements for their destination.
It also offers digital verification when customers comply with all the requirements, helping to speed up the check-in process.
"Piloting this new solution is a direct response to our customers’ increasing desire to explore more international travel opportunities," said Robert Isom, American Airlines President.
"The app will help us deliver a more seamless travel experience as we support demand return."
After customers are verified at the airport they will be sent to an expedited entry lane at Miami Airport where they need only show the ‘pass’ verification screen in the app to pass through the checkpoint without showing any physical documents.
It is available as a pilot program for passengers to Jamaica from 18 November, and will likely be expanded to other markets.
American partnered with identity assurance developer Daon to launch the VeriFLY app.
