American Airlines posts full year airline profit
American Airlines reported full-year 2022 financial results with an airline profit of $803 million.
American and i regional partners operated more than 475,000 flights in the fourth quarter.
The average load factor was 83.9%.
American posted Q4 revenues of $13.2 billion, which was its highest ever.
This was despite flying 6% less capacity compared to 2019.
It also produced record full year revenues of $49 billion.
“The team produced outstanding results over the past year,” said American’s CEO Robert Isom.
“We committed to running a reliable operation and returning to profitability, and our team is delivering on both.”
AA ended the year with $12 billion of total available liquidity
Debt2 reduction continues to be a top priority, the company said.
