American Airlines stops flight attendant training after Covid infections
American Airlines is halting most flight attendant training for the next few days at its Fort Worth headquarters after instructors tested positive for Covid-19.
Two trainers tested positive and the airline will only conduct ‘operationally necessary training’ by instructors who have not been working at the training center recently.
It hopes to resume a full raining program next week.
"The safety and wellbeing of our team members is our unwavering focus always and especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic," said American Airlines spokeswoman Sarah Jantz.
Jantz says it conducts ‘electrostatic spraying using a hospital-grade disinfectant,’ at the facility and face masks and social distancing in classrooms is normal procedure.
The training center hosts thousands of flight attendants every year for mandatory FAA training and other job-related instruction.
