American Airlines will issue on the spot compensation for in-flight mishaps
American Airlines plans to be a little more proactive with in-flight customer service issues.
The airline’s flight crew will soon be able to placate any potential flashpoints by dishing out frequent flyer points on the spot.
Flight attendants are getting a new program loaded on to their tablets which will offer compensation immediately when a mishap arises.
The iSolve program will enable them to award AAdvantage miles to a passenger’s account.
Passengers could be eligible for free miles if faced with various malfunctions such as broken seats, in-flight entertainment outage, an involuntary downgrade or perhaps meal shortages.
It is only eligible for customers already enrolled in the American Airlines AAdvantage program.
The airline hopes this option will help calm angry customers before any issue has a chance to escalate.
The iSolve software rollout comes as the airline is starting to conduct special de-escalation training for flight attendants in order to better respond to in-flight problems.
