American Cruise Lines adding capacity in Pacific Northwest
American Cruise Lines is adding two new itineraries for 2018 in Puget Sound, effectively tripling the line’s capacity in the Pacific Northwest.
Next year it is offering 5-day Highlights of Puget Sound and 11-day Grand Puget Sound itineraries, both round trip from Seattle.
It currently operates a 8-day cruise to Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands along with cruises to Alaska.
The Highlights of Puget Sound cruise includes calls at Friday Harbor, and Port Townsend and the Grand Puget Sound itinerary will dock at ports including Olympia, Tacoma, and Victoria, British Columbia.
ACL is sending its newest ship American Constellation to Alaska in 2018 which will double capacity there before the extra Puget Sound cruises commence in the fall.
"The new ship will enable the company to offer these two new itineraries in Puget Sound, positioning it to meet the industry’s hot demand for cruise travel to Alaska and the entire Pacific Northwest," the company said in a release.
"The Pacific Northwest is one of the most captivating locations in the US and we are thrilled to be able to offer so many unique itinerary options aboard the newest ship in the region," added the line’s VP Timothy Beebe.
