American Cruise Lines heads Northwest
American Cruise Lines has rolled out two new cruises in the Pacific Northwest for 2014, a Puget Sound & San Juan Islands tour and a Lewis & Clark Cruise down the Columbia and Snake Rivers.
Each tour runs for eight days.
The Puget Sound tour, on the 100-passenger American Spirit, travels through intricate system of islands and waterways in the region, including Anacortes and Friday Harbor, Skagit Bay and Deception Pass.
The Lewis & Clark cruises, on the Queen of the West, add a historical bent.
It will stop at sites visited by the two explorers, including Fort Clatsop, where the expeditionary team camped in the winter of 1803, as well as Astoria, Rainer and Pendleton.
River historian Todd Weber will be on board to help bring history to life.
The Lewis & Clark cruises depart April 12 and May 3; Puget Sound cruises depart April 12 and 19 and May 3.
