American Cruise Lines names second Modern Riverboat Series vessel
American Cruise Lines has announced the name of its second ship in the Modern Riverboat Series.
The American Harmony is now under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Md and will debut in 2019.
It joins American Song, which launches in October this year, as a next generation river cruiser with European-style design.
It will sail the Mississippi next year when it takes over from the American Song which will then reposition to the Columbia and Snake rivers.
By October this year, the line will have three new ships sailing the Mississippi, which includes two paddle wheelers along with American Song.
Timothy J. Beebe, Vice President of American Cruise Lines said there has been ‘phenomenal’ demand for its new modern riverboats.
The sleek design offers more expansive lounge space and accommodates 190 guests in 102 staterooms ranging from 250 to 900 square feet for the Grand Suite.
