American Express acquiring airport lounge platform LoungeBuddy
American Express is acquiring commercial partner LoungeBuddy for an undisclosed amount.
LoungeBuddy is a booking app which searches and books access to airport lounges worldwide.
It also offers lounge ratings and reviews and has been available via the AmEx app for the past two years.
The acquisition will allow it to ‘further deliver’ on its current services, said LoungeBuddy co-founder and CTO, Zac Altman.
LoungeBuddy was established in 2013 and raised about $4 million in funding.
Once the deal is finalized in April, LoungeBuddy will operate as a wholly-owned American Express subsidiary.
