American vacationers: spending no more this summer
US travelers say they will spend mo more this summer than last year, according to the annual survey by Myvesta.
The average American plans to spend $2,249 on summer vacations, a small decrease from $2,252 in 2004.
“(Consumer) confidence hasn’t translated into a vastly different financial situation for the average American,” said Steve Rhode, president of Myvesta.
He cited spending stagnation to concerns about the future economy and a lack of wage increases.
Myvesta is a non-profit consumer education organization.
