Amex appoints new head of travel sales, UK/Ireland
American Express has announced the appointment of Giles Hurst to the newly created position of Vice President, Head of Travel Sales and Relationship Management, UK/Ireland.
Reporting to Pearse Reynolds, Head of Corporate Travel UK, he will have overall responsibility for winning new travel accounts as well as developing the company’s relationship with its existing UK travel clients.
Mr Hurst joined American Express in 1994 and has held a range of positions in the Establishment Services Group. His most recent position has been as Head of the Merchant Acquisition group in the UK, where he helped secure American Express Card acceptance agreements with many of the largest UK companies.
Prior to joining American Express, Mr Hurst worked in the Telecomms industry for Digital Mobile Communications and a UK subsidiary of the BellSouth Corporation. He holds a BA honours degree in Politics from the University of Warwick.
