Angsana in Dead Sea, Raffles in Jimbaran
SINGAPORE – Asian-based hotel groups are continuing their expansion.
Banyan Tree has now moved into the Dead Sea, Jordan, with the signing of an Angsana Resort & Spa in the country. This is the group’s ninth property in the region, and the sixth for Angsana after Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah and Oman.
Developed by British-led Belavista Overseas Investment Corporation, the resort is slated for completion in 2011.
Meanwhile, Raffles Amartha, at Jimbaran, Bali is scheduled to open in 2010 and will comprise approximately 90 luxurious villas and 25 Raffles Residences for private ownership.
Raffles Amartha will be built to resemble a Water Palace, with inspiration drawn from classical Javanese-Hindu architecture and style, characterised by open spaces, water features and walled courtyards on rising terraces.
