Anguilla amends Covid protocols

Thursday, 03 Sep, 2021 0

Anguilla’s Executive Council has introduced new entry protocols including a Covid-19 Day-4 testing requirement for all leisure visitors to the island.

The new requirement, which comes into effect on 1 October 2021 is in addition to the PCR test conducted on arrival, which was implemented on 1 July 2021.

There are no quarantine requirements for international leisure visitors staying at hotels, resorts or licensed villas.

Guests just stay-in-place at their hotel or villa while awaiting the result of their test-on-arrival (usually within 12 hours) and provided this is negative, they can move freely around the island until receiving their Day 4 test.

To streamline the process for their guests, some hotels and villas will arrange for the Day 4 test to be undertaken at the  accommodation.

To assist with covering the costs associated with the new testing regime, a single testing fee of US$200 will be charged from 1 October 2021.

This covers the arrival test and Day 4 test for all visitors and is payable via an online portal.

The Day 4 test can also be used for onward travel, if the visitor requires it, at no additional fee.

International visitors must continue to apply for Entry Permission at www.ivisitanguilla.com and must submit a negative Covid-19 rt-PCR test taken 3 – 5 days prior to arrival on the  island.

Proof of vaccination must be uploaded to the entry application portal.

Only fully-vaccinated, adult travellers are allowed entry to Anguilla; with  children 17 years and younger and women who are pregnant exempt.

American Airlines is launching twice-weekly flights between Miami and Anguilla in December 2021.
