APD campaign steps up a gear
ABTA is stepping up its campaign against Air Passenger Duty, starting with a conference call for members today.
It is concerned that the troubles in the Eurozone and on-going economic turmoil will make people forget the damaging impact of APD.
"Successive governments have relied on the historically low profile of this tax to constantly increase it so that we now pay the highest aviation taxes in the world," said chief executive Mark Tanzer.
"The present Government has been very open in its intention to raise APD even higher and that is why it is essential that all of us continue to take action raising awareness with your customers and keeping up the pressure on our political representatives."
ABTA and its A Fair Tax on Flying allies are calling for the Treasury to do research to determine the impact of APD on UK holidaymakers, employment and economic growth.
Today’s conference call for members takes place at 11.30 today. If you are interested in joining, please contact [email protected] for the details.
