APT bolsters trade tream
Tour operator APT has created new roles within its industry sales team in response to increased demand from the trade sector.
Angela Waite has been promoted to head of sales and commercial.
APT said the new role sees Waite take on a wider remit to maximise business expansion opportunities from across the UK travel trade.
Waite, who joined APT in 2006 as a retail sales executive, will continue to lead the brand’s seven-strong sales support team
The group said she has played a pivotal role in growing its luxury and premium river cruise and escorted tour offering in the UK trade sector in recent years.
Meanwhile, following a short hiatus, Jessica Shelton-Agar returns to APT to take up the newly-created role of national sales manager.
Reporting to Waite, she will oversee management of APT’s on road sales team, development of trade relationships and implementation of commercial growth strategies.
Shelton-Agar joins from ANZCRO and has also held previous sales positions at APT, Qantas Holidays and Flight Centre.
Nicole De Wilde, APT’s vice president sales and marketing for UK and North America, said: "We have experienced rapid growth from the UK trade in recent years and it’s still very much on an upward curve.
“Elevating and expanding Angela’s remit and bringing Jessica back into the fold enables us to further dedicate ourselves to supporting our trade partners.”
