Arabian Airpass boost for Oman
DUBAI – Emirates has released a one-way airfare between Dubai and Oman’s capital Muscat from just USD50.
The fare forms one of several attractively priced airfares the Dubai-based carrier is offering with the re-release of its Arabian Airpass.
Welcoming the airline’s decision to re-introduce the pass, Sultanate of Oman tourism director Australia/New Zealand Mona Tannous said the release of the Airpass further opened up the door to international travellers looking to visit the destination.
“Emirates’ Dubai-Muscat airfare represents incredible value,†she said.
“It also allows more flexibility for travellers looking to include a short visit to the sultanate as part of their north-bound journey as well as the longer stay market.â€
The Arabian Airpass is expected to provide a boost for Oman tourism at a time when it is stepping up activity to encourage more international travellers to visit the destination.
According to new hotel performance figures, Oman is by far the most improved destination
throughout the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region in 2008, recording a 34 percent Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) increase.
According to end-of-year results released by MKG Hospitality’s market
monitoring database, Hotel Compset,
Oman’s performance was fuelled by a major growth of almost 40 percent in Average
Daily Rate (ADR).
Overall, Qatar
recorded the highest RevPAR at US$223, followed by the UAE at US$211 and then Oman and Bahrain, almost equal at US$164.
