Arbitration fees frozen
ABTA has confirmed that fees for its arbitration scheme will be frozen for another year.
The scheme will continue to be handled by CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) which streamlined the service when it took over in 2011.
In 2013, the ABTA Arbitration scheme handled 267 travel complaints and awarded over £165,000. The average award was £620.94.
Charles Fachiri, ABTA consumer affairs senior manager, said: "We are very pleased to be able to secure a continued price freeze and hope that this will encourage consumers and ABTA members to continue to use this effective complaints solution – which is often a much more cost effective route than going through the courts."
