ARC closing down travel agent marketplace
Airlines Reporting Corporation has announced the impending closure of the ARC MarketPlace travel agency portal.
ARC MarketPlace provides agents with commissionable tours, activities and passport and visa service products.
It will close down on December 29 as main supplier Viator, Inc. has chosen to end its partnership with ARC.
This is because TripAdvisor-owned Viator launched its own travel agent portal last month.
"We are disappointed that Viator has taken this action, and proud to have served the agency community with this source of products, commission payment and call center support for almost eleven years," said Doug Mangold, ARC’s vice president of product.
All bookings made on the ARC MarketPlace before the closing date will be honoured.
ARC Marketplace had an inventory of about 65,000 commissionable tours and activities, shore excursions, and ground transportation options.
In a message posted on the ARC website, all agents in the affiliate program have been requested to remove all relevant links and banners on their website prior to December 29, 2017.
