Avalon Waterways is expanding in Southeast Asia for the 2018 season, introducing a new vessel to Vietnam.

The cruise line will launch the 36-passenger Avalon Saigon in September 2018, effectively doubling capacity in the market.

It will join sister ship Avalon Siem Reap on the Mekong River with weekly departures and a variety of other cruises including two new 18 and 21-day voyages.

Avalon also announced a new 16-day cruise on the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar.

The Asia expansion is just part of Avalon Waterways’ new 2018 program which also sees more of its Active Discovery cruises in Europe which includes new eight-day sailings on the Rhine departing from Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

To mark the launch of its 2018 program, Avalon is offering up to $2,600 per couple on selected Asian sailings.

Valid for bookings made until June 6, 2017, the Avalon Choice Holiday Credit is available on the ‘Spirit of Myanmar & The Untouched Upper Irrawaddy’ sailing in April 2018 and a new ‘Heart of Cambodia & Vietnam’ 18-day cruise from Siem Reap to Hanoi in July 2018.

"Travel today is all about choice, so we have designed our latest offer to provide our guests with more flexibility and more options when planning their dream trip. Whether they want to add on a city stay at the end of their cruise, see a bit more of the region or simply upgrade their cabin, it’s their choice," said Globus National Marketing Manager Chris Fundell.
