Avis expands to Myanmar
Car rental firm Avis has expanded to Myanmar.
Its latest Southeast Asian outpost is situated at Inya Lake Hotel in Yangon, and hopes to expand to Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Bagan, Taunggyi, and Dawei in the future, said Prasoporn Tansupasiri, general manager, Avis Myanmar.
Avis Myanmar is a subsidiary of local firm RMA Group which provides a range of car rental packages for corporate and individual leisure travellers.
It offers rates starting at $39 a day with a 24-hour hotline and roadside assistance.
Vehicle categories available include sedans, SUVs, pick-up trucks, vans and people carriers.
"Myanmar is a country with great potential particularly with the development of its automotive industry and we very much look forward to being part of this growth," said Hans Mueller, vice president global licensees – international, Avis Budget Group.
Avis Myanmar also offers a chauffeur service for airport transfers and point-to-point journeys.
