Azamara names newly purchased fourth ship
Boutique cruise line Azamara announced the name and ship handover of its new vessel, Azamara Onward.
It is the line’s fourth ship and joins Azamara Pursuit, Azamara Journey, and Azamara Quest.
"It marks a new beginning for Azamara, as we increase our capacity and begin our journey as an independent cruise company. Our new ship can access smaller ports and allow us to bring our guests to even more destinations," said President of Azamara, Carol Cabezas.
"When selecting a unique name, we realized our fourth ship marks the start of a new adventure and we chose a name that celebrates the bright future ahead for the brand, our guests, and the industry as a whole."
Azamara changed hands from Royal Caribbean group to PE firm Sycamore Partners in a $200 million deal.
Azamara Onward will receive a comprehensive refurbishment before beginning operations in 2022.
The line recently purchased the ship from Princess Cruises where it sailed as Pacific Princess.
