BA and Iberia expand code-share
British Airways will be able to offer more flights between Heathrow and Spain due to an expansion of its code-share agreement with Iberia.
From the start of the winter schedule on 27 October, Iberia and BA flights from Heathrow to Madrid and Barcelona will carry both airline codes. This will mean both carriers can sell seats on 11 flights a day to Madrid and eight flights a day to Barcelona.
The BA flights will still depart from Terminal 1, and the Iberia flights will continue to depart from Terminal 2.
The airlines, both members of the oneworld alliance, announced in July that they were entering into a commercial agreement to share airport facilities and develop code-shares. BA acquired a nine percent stake in Iberia in March 2000.
