BA announces codeshare with Malaysia Airlines
British Airways has signed a new codeshare agreement with oneworld partner Malaysia Airlines.
The new code will be added to 14 destinations Malaysia Airlines serves, including Langkawi, Penang and Kota Kinabalu, and nine cities in Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Vietnam.
It will mean that passengers flying from the UK will be able to check in their bags through to their final destination.
Seats are available to book from today BA said the agreement gives passengers a greater choice of routes, destinations and fares and more flexibility for travel between the UK and the Asia Pacific.
Executive Club members will gain enhanced frequent flyer benefits and Avios can be used on reward flights, upgrades, hotels, experiences and for part payment.
BA has daily flights from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur.
As part of the agreement, Malaysia Airlines customers will be able to book seats directly on malaysiaairlines.com to Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle via Heathrow on BA flights.
Subject to regulatory approval, Malaysia Airlines will also be codesharing with BA to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Vienna, Brussels, Geneva, Hamburg, Lyon, Toulouse, Paris and Zurich.
